Welcome, Keely App v0.6!

An update! A real actual update!

Yes, I have finally pushed a full update to the public repository on GitHub! This is v.0.6, which is actually a significant update from what I originally uploaded back in June (which seems 4EVAH ago, honestly). It fixes a lot of bugs, moved some files around so they are actually usable (a good thing, I tend to think! LOL) and even added a "demo site" to give users who install it something to work from.

A lot of the changes made grew out of the work I am doing on the desktop app, so they are all about usability, the reader experience, and how it looks when the site is built. There is still a long way to go, but I'm closing in on something truly usable!

We Got Scenes!

The desktop app really has progressed amazingly well. Not well enough to be released, that's true, but far past the expectations I had for it when I started building it in August. From welcome window to full scene preview support, it's happening, it's really happening! I've even got some screen shots to share!

The Welcome Screen

This shows your projects, the highest level of content. (Remember each project can hold 1 or more (up to 99) stories, with a shared codex (wiki) for each project!) This gives you quick access to open a current WIP or create a new project:

The Project Hub

Each project has a hub that gives you quick access to your stories and your codex entries. The little gear icon next to the project title opens a window so you can change the details, while clicking on any cards under "World" opens that entity's own management hub. I'll be doing a whole post about project management soon!

And Finally, Scenes!!!!

I am hyped for this. When you click on a story, it opens a TOC, and when you click on a scene, you get THIS:

There is a lot going on here that I could rhapsodize about for a long time, and I totally will in a future post!

Right now I just want to point out that the three-panel layout gives you immediate access to the navigation, the writing screen, and the preview pane. All are flexible so you can resize or close the side panels. Note that you can preview the prose, the whole page, or open it as a preview in your browser!

There is more, so much more, and I am looking forward to sharing it with all of you soon!
